A Quick Guide To Astral Projection
Nov 10th, 2009 by Mike Sherfen

One would think that since astral projection often occurs involuntarily, that it would be relatively easy to perform willingly. And for people who are particularly psychically sensitive, this might be true. But for others who may not be quite as receptive, a few steps need to be intentionally carried out before there can be anything even resembling a triumphant voyage of projection into the astral world. Continue reading for a look into a concise astral projection guide.

There are some main steps the traveler must follow in order to prepare themselves for spiritual itinerant. In short order, one must be free of trepidation, must be calm, and must be focused on the act of actually traveling to the astral realm. You will get yourself nowhere if you initiate projection by being afraid, tense, or have your mind wandering to other thoughts.

Imagine trying to will yourself to sleep when you’re wide awake…such an act would require great resolution to achieve because you are telling your body to do something it might not even want to do. The same goes for astral projection – even if projection does occur naturally for some (like sleeping), making yourself do so when your body may not want it to transpire will put a damper on your efforts. The first few times you try this will probably feel like you’re fighting your own body.

So you’ll really have to put your mind over the matter and get yourself to relax. Reassure yourself with truth: astral projection is not deadly, and while the thought of your soul leaving your body might sound terrifying, it will not harm you. The ’silver cord’ of spiritual energy that connects your astral soul to your corporeal being will not break.

Meditation is a very good way to calm the mind and the body, as well as help you to concentrate on allowing projection to happen. You should do your best to situate yourself in a quiet atmosphere and begin blocking out all the mental noise going on in your head. As long as you are worrying about something, such as a job or a loved one, then projection cannot happen. Do your best to clear your mind and try focusing your energy and thoughts onto something else. I personally have found that concentrating on my breathing helps me to get into a very relaxed state of mind. However, my breathing is a little erratic, so focusing on taking long, slow, deep, cleansing breaths will take my mind off all other mental crises and allow me to become more spiritually amenable.

Even if you’re relaxed, fearless, and focused, you still might not be able to project. The state you must be in is a delicate one, wherein your body must be unconscious, but your mind still conscious. You can’t actually fall asleep or dream because projection still may not occur if you break your concentration. Yes, projection can occur during slumber, but the purpose of this guide is to show you how to project your soul by your own volition. And do not be discouraged if things don’t go too well the first few times you attempt projection; as the old saying goes, practice does make perfect. It may require several endeavors before you see any results.

And you will most definitely know when you’ve begun to separate from your body. You will probably feel some very intense vibrations occurring all over your body; don’t be alarmed by this, as this is normal. Don’t break your concentration and do your best to persevere through these vibrations, even if they are startling. The vibrating is a sign that you’re almost there and if you continue on your current level of awareness, your astral being will begin to separate from your physical self. It could prove frightening if you’re new at such things, but keep in mind that projection will not harm you in any way.

An Astral Projection Aid – Sugar
Nov 3rd, 2009 by William Sanders

People in general are often advised to not eat right before going to sleep at night because your body will not use the energy it receives from said food and it could contribute to an unhealthy diet. However, did you know that having a small amount of carbohydrates before bed can increase your chances of achieving successful astral projection? This isn’t exactly a ‘how to’ astral projection guide, but one of the many ‘how to’ prepare for projection items.

Carbs are known for not only promoting normal brain function, but also for relaxing the brain and mental processes somewhat. This may sound strange, especially with known terms like “sugar high”, the result of eating too much sugar. But sugar in particular has an almost drug-like effect on the body, and it may reduce the connection slightly between the consciousness and the physical body.

This is why it is suggested, by me and by other people knowledgeable in astral projection, that the astral traveler may benefit from having a small amount of sugar prior to attempting projection. It has also been theorized that those who have high-carb or high-sugar diets may be more likely to fulfill their desire to project due to the overall concentration of sugar in the body and the effects it has on the brain.

If you choose to use sugar prior to projection, know that it should not entail stuffing yourself until you’re full. You aren’t looking for a full stomach to project, as it might cause upset in your body that would probably distract you from your focus on projection.

A little sugar is all that’s needed to stimulate your mind in the proper way, such as what’s found in a handful of berries, a few chocolate chips, a marshmallow, a cookie, a sip of juice, and so on. You don’t want to be bloated, but you want to have the sugar in your system. These are only suggestions as far as portion sizing for your sweet snack…obviously, some people may have allergies to the ingredients used in some of the aforementioned foods, so be sure to choose something that will not make you have an allergic reaction. You definitely cannot project if you can’t breathe or you’re breaking out in hives.

Stay away from caffeine…even though most caffeinated beverages contain lots of sugar (like carbonated drinks), these are not the carbs you want to use. The caffeine will make you much too alert to initiate projection and the sugar will conflict with the caffeine and will not help you.

The Inner and Outer Aspects of the Throat Chakra
Sep 11th, 2009 by Estee Taschereau

Our physical body is supported by an energy body. While we have organs that act as important centers of the human body, our energy body has chakras. Today we will talk primarily of the throat chakra and the role it plays in our life.

The word chakra is an ancient one, originating in the Sanskrit language. Chakra means wheel, which describes its energetic appearance. Each chakra has a role, ranging from our basic primal body knowledge up to our higher spiritual knowledge or wisdom. The throat chakra relates to the flow of communication.

When we speak of communication our first thought is of an exchange of words between two people. Communications are not restricted to words alone. We have sign language, using symbols and gestures to make a point.

Looking beyond words we use more than the symbols of words to get across our message. There is the look in our eyes, the way we move physically, and the tilt of our mouth. We use tone and volume, even silence.

Our communication is far more than just the words we utter, though our primary focus is on the vocal aspect. In the energy body and the throat, or communication chakra, the chakra itself is more of a passageway to relay the collective message from our knowledge, perception, heart, and emotions.

There is another aspect of the throat chakra that is called the inner voice. This ability connects us body, mind and spirit. Our inner voice is the conduit to connect to our own emotions, feelings, perceptions, knowledge and our higher spiritual powers.

Another part of the throat chakra is telepathy. While this name is often recognized many of us believe we have little or no experience with this ability. Telepathy does not use the physical means of communication, so there is no evidence of how much we really use this style of communication.

This basic overview gives you a greater awareness of the throat chakra and how this chakra helps us in our ability to communicate with others. Combining awareness and intent we can more easily heal ourselves, and strengthen our ability to express ourselves in this world.
